Quality Product Offerings: NIJ 0101.04/2005 Interim Requirements Agencies should purchase body armor certified under existing standards if their officers need it and if they have current budget to do so.

Capable and Prepared: NIJ 0101.06 Protocols
First Choice is ready for NIJ 0101.06 testing protocols. We have purchased state of the art equipment and added key personnel to our staff to develop and test new advanced body armor that will meet or exceed the NIJ 0101.06 protocol. First Choice has leading edge technological development facilities including three ballistic test ranges capable of performing destructive ballistic testing with ultra high velocity 2,4,16 & 64gr RCC, 17gr FSP and a complete wide range of pistol and rifle rounds.

Continuous Research and Development
First Choice Armor is committed to the continuous improvement of body armor through constant investment in new technology and human capital. Alliances and partnerships have been formed and capital investments made to position First Choice with unique product offerings that will differentiate it from traditional soft and hard body armor manufacturers. During 2008, First Choice hired Dale Taylor as senior vice president of its products group. Dale has over 20 years of industry experience; specifically in designing, testing, and researching body armor systems. Taylor’s leadership and First Choice’s investment combine to position First Choice Armor as a leader in the development and manufacture of advanced body armor.

Meeting the Needs of Agencies
First Choice will continue to meet the armor needs of law enforcement agencies and their officers by continuing to provide armor that meets the NIJ 0101.04/2005 Interim Requirements. Currently, First Choice has multiple ballistic packages at independent ballistic testing laboratories pending NIJ 0101.06 certification.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If agencies have officers with current body armor needs, the decision of whether to buy now (NIJ 0101.04/2005 Interim Requirements) or wait until the new standard is implemented should be driven by the safety of the officer and availability of budget.
